Rain continues in Bengal, huge drop in temperature. The process of rain has not yet stopped in other parts of the state including Kolkata, the capital of West Bengal. In a statement issued by the Meteorological Department on Tuesday, it has been said that 15.8 mm of rain has been recorded in the capital Kolkata during the last 24 hours. Due to this, the minimum temperature has been recorded at 26.1 degrees Celsius and the maximum temperature has been recorded at 29.1 degrees Celsius.
This is four degrees less than normal. Apart from Kolkata, continuous rain has started in other parts of the state including Howrah, Hooghly, North and South 24 Parganas, East and West Medinipur, Purulia, Bankura since Tuesday morning. Rain continues in Alipurduar, Cooch Behar, Jalpaiguri, Darjeeling and Kalimpong of North Bengal.
It is noteworthy that it has been raining continuously in West Bengal for the last one week due to which the situation has worsened. The state government has expressed the possibility of flood in seven districts of the state.
